Rather than having one big dish that’s thirty dollars, consider offering smaller dishes for fifteen or twenty dollars each. You can also keep the big portion and charge more. Make sure the employees at your restaurant are taken care of, especially during this time. Employees that feel supported by their workplace perform better. It’s also important to make sure your employees are healthy, so encourage open communication. Make sure you have enough staff to cover people if they’re ill or overworked. Cross-contamination is serious, especially for anyone with food allergies. Separate stations may not be possible for smaller kitchens. For smaller kitchens, it’s important to stay organized and clean. Make sure to clean the station off immediately after use to ensure there’s no cross-contamination. Food safety is extremely important and cannot be left off, even if you’re trying to be more efficient.
Implement Contactless Delivery
Contactless delivery is safe and it’s also a time saver. Rather than waiting for the customer to open the door, the food is placed near the door. The flaw in many delivery services is that the restaurant doesn’t have control over what the delivery service does. Although it may seem convenient to have another company deliver our food, think twice about it. Having another company deliver the food won’t absolve you from responsibility. If the customer isn’t satisfied with how their meal arrives, the responsibility can fall on the restaurant. Consider investing in your own delivery method to ensure the food is properly handled.
